Start in two minutes.

Get a key, download the Mac sidecar, point Chrome at localhost. We activate the key after payment. Without a live lease the sidecar refuses traffic.

1.Get an account key

Create a key here, or we send you one after an invoice. A new key is unpaid until we activate it — the sidecar will answer 402 until then.

2.Download the sidecar

Mac first. Linux builds are here if you need them.

curl -fsSL https://HOST/install.sh | sh

3.Setup card

  1. Make it executable and register. This starts the proxy on 127.0.0.1:9001 and the console on 127.0.0.1:9000.
    chmod +x sidecar
    ./sidecar setup YOUR_ACCOUNT_KEY
  2. Print the CA and SPKI hash:
    ./sidecar ca > sidecar-ca.pem
    ./sidecar ca -spki
  3. Point a dedicated Chrome at the proxy and trust that CA (do not use your everyday profile):
open -na "Google Chrome" --args \
      --user-data-dir="$HOME/.filter-chrome" \
      --proxy-server=http://127.0.0.1:9001 \
      --proxy-bypass-list='<-loopback>' \
      --ignore-certificate-errors-spki-list=SPKI_HASH
  4. Open the console at http://127.0.0.1:9000 to add rules. Optional paid upstream:
    ./sidecar setup YOUR_ACCOUNT_KEY --upstream host:port:user:password
